I am getting the upgrade bug and need some advice

GigaByte Z68X-UD3H-B3
i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz Running stable @ 4.0GHz
16GB Kingston KHX1600C9D34GX
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti x 2 SLI
OCZ-AGILITY3 (120GB, SATA600, SSD)
WDC WD10EARS-00Y5B1 (1TB, SATA300, 3.5")
Seagate ST31000528AS (1TB, SATA300, 3.5", 7200rpm)
OCZ 750W Fatality

I put this system together on a budget and love tinkering/over clocking/testing and play older games like UT3, Half Life series, but want to try the latest Call of Duty.

Would I get higher performance from my SSD, Memory and Video Cards and CPU
if I were to upgrade to a new Z77 board?
What about along with that a new i7 CPU?
I know that my MB isnt taking advantage of the SSD 6GBS and the Gigabyte software suite is getting a little old.
Any thoughts or advice?

I don't think you'll see a dramatic improvement in performance, especially if you can OC the currect i5 to 4.5 or so

I say wait for the next generation of GPU and build an entirely new system then - you can play all current games now!

I thought that Ivy Bridge allows the SSD take full advantage of its 6GBs speed
and the i7 is a better performing CPU than the i5 overall.
Additionally, isnt there a much richer software suite available with Ivy Bridge?
I know I can play most games and get decent performance but I dont mind blowing $400 US or so just to feel like I have a fresher, more current system, ya know?
Again, I love tinkering even more than I enjoy playing games....allthough gaming performance is important to me.
I have been out of the tech know for some time and am catching up by reading a lot of reviews and new tech articles.
When does next gen hardware usually get released?
also, isnt it very expensive at the release point?
