Question I am having a problem with my external hard drive.

So here's my situation. I have an external hard drive that I rigged up with a kit. It was a spare 1 TB hard drive that I had lying around. The thing is, and the problem is my computer only recognizes that it has like 20 gigs or something like that - which is incorrect - it's a 1 TB hard drive.

Any opinions or solutions?

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS.

Make and model of that 1 TB hard drive? Age and condition?

Have you check the drive with Partition Manager/Disk Management or any manufacturer provided diagnostic tools?

USB connection? Did the external drive kit include a standalone power supply for the drive or is the external kit plugged directly into a USB port for data and power?
