I just got a Razer DeathStalker keyboard and it appears to be having a little (annoying) problem.

When I am holding "W" (which is the "walk forward" key for just about every game) it will randomly act as if it stops being held down. I am not letting go of the key btw. Is there something I'm missing? Did I not set it to a particular mode or is there a setting that is on by default that I should turn off to fix this?

I'm using DeathStalker and there's no such problem. Most likely it's a hardware issue. Try rebinding "walk forward" to a different key and see if the problem persists. You may have done something in Synapse that causes this so try uninstalling it. The keyboard works well without its driver software.

Ok, If I set synapse to its defaults will that have the same effect as uninstalling it? Also does the stat tracker cause latency like this and if it does how to I turn off the stat tracking?

P.S. I got the gear recently so it is still under warranty and I might just ask for a replacement if I cant fix it myself. So I guess its not that urgent of a problem.

You should probably make sure it's a hardware problem before replacing the keyboard. Try rebinding the WASD to the arrow keys in the game options. If it still act like you're not holding the button down then the problem is on a software level that the firmware update might fix.

All of the aplications I use the keyboard with act this way and I found that not just the "w" key but all the keys act this way. They will randomly stop acting as if they are being held down when they ARE being held down.

Could you explain how I would go about updating the firmware? Does that involve making sure Razer synapse is up to date?

Ok then, so I should swap out the keyboard for another one to see if the problem persists and if doesn't I should call Razer about returning the keyboard and getting a replacement?
