What sort of programs are you running? What are the rest of the system specifications?

A general solution to speed up any PC is to install a solid state drive for system files such as the operating system and boot programs. You may also need more RAM.

If you haven't done a virus check or disk defragmentation recently, both of those are also beneficial. Remove unused programs from the Add/Remove programs menu in control panel.

Well you have the slowest processor on the market, no surprise there. There is reason that laptop was on sale for probably $300

You can get an SSD drive for windows and that will help out a lot.

If a desktop I would say to upgrade cpu, but in laptop if even possible it is not worth the hassle

A SSD for the "C" drive is one of the best performance enhancers in general.
