So, I have a spare monitor that I would like to setup and I am currently only using one monitor that is connected to the DP. The monitor is VGA and the only other options available on my MSI R9 390x are the HDMI and two DVI-D ports. However, I need the HDMI for VR, so that's not an option. I have read things about these adapters not working or people not buying the right ones(something to the matter of analog and digital display was mentioned in a lot of posts I looked at) and I want to make sure I am looking into the right thing. I can give you the model number of my monitor if need be, but I'm pretty sure what I have given you is all that is needed. I should mention, this is my first time looking into a dual monitor setup and this isn't the most convenient way to start lol
