I am looking to build a gaming desktop

Hello everyone,

I am looking to start gaming on a desktop now rather than my xbox one consule, I don't know much about building a desktop so I was wondering if anyone could help me with some parts that you would recommend.

Budget: 1,500-2,000 for just the tower and components

If it's a couple hundred over budget that's fine, and I'm looking for a setup that's about average or a bit above average because I am a pretty hard gamer and will be using this regularly.

If you're ready to pump more money than that into it, a GTX980ti instead of a 980 would be a good option. The other thing is you could use an i7-6700k, but honestly I think it isn't necessary for gaming.

Yep. I'm not a very ''gotta make my build look good'' kind of guy, so his version might suit your visual needs .

However I would stick to the Samsung 850 evo SSD over the Kingston one, because it's just so much better and reliable.

Both mine and rwoody's are, I didn't check TheMaster's because I'm currently on my way home after work, and checking this on my phone isn't quite optimal.

The only thing theirs have that mine doesn't is an optical drive, an OS, and a WiFi adapter. Just add on those to mine if those are things you need. All builds listed are above average and more than most users need. Just pick whichever matches your budget/aesthetics/personal preference honestly.
