[SOLVED] I am looking to upgrade my NVIDIA GTX 950

I am looking to upgrade from a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 2GB 16X to a ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB. I am just unsure about doing it with my power supply, could I do it with my pc specs?

Specs:
INTEL(R) Core™ i5-6600 Quad Core 3.30 GHz 6MB Cache LGA1151
16GB (4x4GB) DDR3/1866mhz Dual Channel Memory
Corsair VS Series 450watt Gaming Power Supply
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 2GB 16X

I would get a new power supply. From everything I have read, the Corsair VS series is not a good quality supply. If you search on this site, I think you will see what I mean. I wouldn't trust my system to it....and I wouldn't trust a new GPU to it.

so power wise would 450 be enough? I am fine buying a better PSU, just I was unsure on general power I would need for the upgrade

The NVidia spec is 400w minimum. A good quality 450w supply will work. I would suggest a Seasonic if they are available to you.

if you get 400-450 then if you ever increase the GPU or CPU then you'll need to buy yet another PSU, go for 600W and you'll be fine for all but the most extreme of single card setups.

Although its not a great PSU, you should be able to run a 1060 on that without a problem.
