What do you mean by a converter, as you can see i'm not the smartest guy on the block XD
A 7850 requires dual 6pin connectors, while that PSU only has one.
The 550W version of that PSU will work though.

It didn't, the 450W only had one 6+2pin connector. While the 550W has a 6pin and a 6+2pin connector.
You can use PCI-Molex adapters (iv even seen SATA to PCI adapters), but I prefer not to use them. Rather not put the Molex rail under a load it wasn't intended for.
