last week i bought a dell inspiron 14 5000 series with an inbuilt nvidia ge force 920m 2gb graphics card so from the nvidia control panel update option i was trying to update it to the latest one but when ever i tried to do it it says unable to connect to the nvidia i use a 8mbps connection so it's not at all a problem with the internet as you know.

First thing, laptop video drivers are only supported by the laptop vendor, if you change to the reference ones from nVidia you may have issues, especially if you have switchable graphics.

Second, what exactly states you can't connect "to the nvidia"? The web browser does not open www.nvidia.com or what? Do other computers in your house work ok to get to that site? Other web sites are fine on the laptop?
