I am upgrading my laptop from windows 8.1 to windows 10 using a USB drive

Hi, I am upgrading my acer aspire laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. I created the usb drive with the necessary files using a media creation tool. Whilst doing the upgrade I have noticed that it gets stuck on showing the acer logo, the slogan and saying getting ready. Do I need to remove the usb drive from the computer to get it to go further. Thanks
