Hello, I am building a brand new Rig for gaming and I am wondering if the components I have selected are compatible for each other and would run well, if not could you please select suitable replacements.

Here are the Components:

CPU - The X6 1055T is not a Black Edition (BE) so you are somewhat stuck at a lower CPU clock speed unlesss you wanted to overclock by changing the FSB. If you can afford the 1090T BE then go with that CPU. Alternatively, for the price of the 1055T you can pick up the Phenom X4 955 (or 965) with an aftermarket CPU cooler (Hyper 212+) and overclock the four cores to 3.8+ GHz safely. This is a better gaming setup than the X6 simply for the faster clock speed.

HD - Scratch the WD Blue. The Samsung F3 1TB is faster and has a better reliability record. ...and probably cheaper.

MB - Only one high speed PCIe slot there... Fine and all if you have no interest in adding a second GTX 560 Ti down the road. I would advise you to change the MB to the one linked below to keep the GPU upgrade options open (note the 8x/8x for PCIe).

PSU - The Corsair is a good choice. If you swap the MB out for a crossfire ready board you should consider upping the size to a 750w for plenty of overhead to add that second GPU or other components.

Thank you for your insight, the problem is that I live in Canada and the prices for those are above my budget. I will swap the WD for a Samsung but that is about all. How long do you think until the 560 Ti will become completely obsolete?

Obsolete? ...a decade?? The GTX 560 Ti will serve you well for a while. Maybe in a year or two, if you keep up with current games, you will be looking for an upgrade.

Sticking with the X6 1055t also?

No, I found a 1090T BE for a suitable price, I'll stay with the one MD for now since I don't need to run all the latest stuff at the highest Settings, if it can run at a decent frame rate then I'll be happy :)

A stock clocked 955 will beat an i3 2100 everywhere except gaming , and once clocked to 3.6 GHz it will beat it there too

At a stock 3.2GHz that is correct. Overclock the 955BE and the advantage of having the i3-2100 goes away and favors the higher clocked cores of the X4.

Just add an extra $30- $40 for aftermarket cooler...

Oh yeah and the equivalent motherboard from Asus w/ the AM3+ chipset costs $37 more than this one...

so... for about $70 more you get something that is a little bit faster...

If you overclock it... which not everyone is comfortable doing...

Also, the AMD 955 BE will keep on giving as long as you own it... Because, the AMD 955 OCed also comes with an electricity bill literally twice that of the i3 2100...

Yes, the vanilla 955 BE is better than the 1090T for gaming because it costs $50 less. The 1090T is a great multitasker, but it's the same clock speed as the 955 BE. Even if you overclock the chip a little bit, say to 3.5 Ghz, it will outperform the 1090T. The 1090T creates more heat with 2 extra cores and is harder to get a decent OC out of it. In games the two extra cores won't get used much at all. In the future games will be able to take advantage of additional cores, but at this point 3 cores is plenty for the vast majority of games. The 4th core is icing on the cake and future-proofs your rig.

Also, getting the AM3+ chipset will give you an upgrade path once AMD releases Bulldozer in a few weeks. Bulldozer may be great, good, or just so-so. At this point we don't know. We can only assume that it will be faster than the Phenom IIs. I hope it is something that can give Intel's Sandy Bridge architecture a run for it's money.
