I bought a Gtx 1070 but my pc says its a gtx 770

so i upgraded my graphics card to a gtx 1070, the box it came in and the card itself says its a 1070. i uninstalled the old drivers and reinstalled the one for the gtx 1070. my computer and geforce expierience both say i have a gtx 770, and my pc runs slow on games that my old gtx 970 ran great.

please help?

Uninstall the display drivers, run DDU ( https://www.wagnardsoft.com ) reboot and re-install latest driver from nVidia (http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx) .

Can you post screenshot from GPU-Z ?
And photo of the card perhaps? What's the manufacturer/model name of the card?
