Question I bought a new cooling fan, and I need help installing it.

Hello,

I’m new to this forum and I was wondering if anybody can help me install this new laptop fan I bought off eBay. I’ve looked many times online and each fan I’ve looked at appears to have the same male Plug adapter thingy (whatever you call it). The problem is the fan I bought doesn’t seem to want to fit into The female slot in the motherboard.

I will let you know that when I was taking the original factory fan out of my laptop, the plug for the fan just fell apart completely and I have no idea what it originally looked like.

Possibly it seems there still some pieces of the original plug that’s blocking it? I don’t know. Anybody can offer help would be great!

It looks like the bottom of the old fan connector is stuck in the header... you will need a small flat head screwdriver and / or some tweezers to get that out and then you should be good....
