Question I bought a new GPU because i thought the old one was broken... problem NOT FIXED :(

Ok so I had an GTX 970 in my Computer for like 4 years. I went to holiday, came back and when i turned on my PC the displays (1 DisplayPort, the other one is HDMI) stayed black. I was confused and changed the HDMI to my Motherboard GPU a Intel(R) HD Graphics 530, that one worked and i was able to turn on my PC properly, but i was only able to use my HDMI Display. So i tried to fix the problem by:

• turning off/on my PC
• Updating Windows and the Driver (which detect the GTX 970 in my PC)
• Going into BIOS and letting it search the GPU (at least that is what i think it does)
• Reconnecting ALL the ports and also taking my GTX out and putting it back in (I thought maybe a cable got loose)

So I couldn't fix the problem... and thought "hey maybe the GPU is broken and i need to get it replaced". So I went out and bought a GTX 1650S. --> Deleted all the old drivers, installed it properly and look at that the problem is still here and nothing has changed. I've spent many hours in different forums to find a solution but nothing has helped me.

It would mean a lot to me if you have a solution to my problem. ~Benri

PS: When i turn on the Computer i can see the GPU spinning, so there is power to it, it just does not get recognised by the PC (I can't find it in the device manager).
My PC specs:
ASUS ROG G20cb
RAM 16GB
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.41GHz
64bit

• are you sure you pluged the monitor into the GPU and not into the motherboard ?
• did you desactivated the iGPU in the bios ?
• model and make of the PSU ?

from my experience, when you shutdown a PC for a long time and then it doen't work properly afterwards, most of the time the culprit is the PSU, or motherboard, or both.
no thunderstorm during your holidays ? was the power unpluged from the wall and from any modem ?

Ok So i am a 100% sure that the monitor is correctly plugged in into the GPU.
Ok so I haven't done Number 2 and 3 but i will take a look at it tomorrow, hopefully it works. It's too late now.

By the way, could the problem be that the 6-pin cable is like broken?

Ok so i actually searched stuff up and saw that PSU means Power Supply so what i have found is that i have 180W+230W PSU... so that would be enough. Also i went through the whole BIOS settings and tried everything GPU related... nothing works.

Tomorrow i want to try out something new by: Removing my GPU starting the PC with motherboard GPU going into a safe reboot. In safe reboot disabling the motherboard GPU, turn off the computer put in the new GPU start the PC. Letting the new GPU install (hopefully that happens) turning safe boot off and hoping that with safeboot it may work. If not... i've got no clue and i will go to a computer specialist

i have 180W+230W PSU... so that would be enough.

what do you mean 180w+230w?
are you using 2 psu?

your power supply went probably bad. (it's the PSU yes sorry for the acronym !)

also a 180W or 230W is not enough to power an i7-6700 + 970GTX
im very surprised it has a 6 pin power cable at all.

what is the brand ? do you see a sticker on the side ?

(guys, lets bet : diablotek ? raidmax ? or just a few chinese caracters ?)
my bet is on raidmax , because i play wow

It's a custom case and power supply, pretty bad design for a gaming system, made for looks vs function.
