[SOLVED] I bought a new ram and it is not working

Its a 4gb ddr3 ram.I already had a 2 gb ram.After I installed the new ram it didnt work.can anyone plz help me

If you added that stick to your other stick then that is the reason it doesn’t work. Memory manufacturers only guarantee sticks to work that are sold as matched sets, such as sets of two or four sticks.

Take out the two gig stick and try it with only the four gig installed

I would suspect that the 4GB stick of memory is either incompatible with the old Dell motherboard (chipset) or is defective.
