On an android phone they pause whatever's playing but I was hoping on my PC it would mute the mic or something but it's completely unresponsive. I am assuming its not compatible but I just wanted to check here to see if anyone knew anyway to "program" it i guess?

There's no software and the button just doesn't do anything at all. Even when held down, google says to use device manager and update but im not seeing that discover anything "new" Am I out of the water trying to use it as a function for PC?

Thanks.

Skullcandy have a number of earbuds in the market, which one do you have and what is the make, model and SKU for your laptop?

Hang on a minute,
I was hoping on pc it would mute the mic

You posted this thread on the laptop's section, yet you're referring to a PC, are you on a laptop or a desktop platform?

They are the Skullcandy inked+ 3.5mm headphones with the mic. The button pauses on Android, but on my Asus Zephyrus G16 2023. GU603VV Laptop the button does nothing.

I am just assuming it doesn't know what the buttons do because it's just a headphones/mic jack. But, I duno I guess so is the androids jack? I didn't think it wouldn't do anything at all though.. By default it's dead weight.

EDIT: yeah i couldnt find a dedicated headphones forum might want to move this to peripherals?. I posted it to laptops cuz im on a gaming laptop with the 3.5mm headphones jack that also is a mic jack. but i duno if the laptop doesnt support the buttons or if Windows overall doesnt support the buttons.
