I cannot sign into any site. I want to be able to download some programs. When I search on google, I get a message that I am not connected. The tablet tells me I need to have a sim card but from what I have read, I do not need a sim card to connect to a network with a hotspot.

Anyone know what I could do before I send the garbage back!

I am not very tech savvy. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You say you're connecting thru your phone' hotspot.
  • Have you tried connecting this tablet to "standard" WiFi connection, either at home or coffee shop?
  • Have you tried connecting another device (laptop) to that hotspot?
I have not tried any wifi. I do use my phone as a hotspot for my Laptop.

I should have clarified, Sometimes when attempting to connect, I can go to my phone (the the hotspot) and see that the tablet is connected but on the tablet I see no connection and I cannot go to any website.

I appreciate your response.

Thanks to all. I am sending it back. Now I got to struggle with the fire 10 I bought last year. I am just going to mirror my phones Co pilot gps. That is what I am trying to do with these cheap tablets.
