SO.....the video card is next on my list. Im thinkin ill probably buy one within the next 1-2 months. I dont really want to spend over $200-$250, so i ask...what do you think will be the best video card under $250 about 1-2 months from now? When will the new ATI and NVIDIA models come out, because id wait for them if its not too long from now?

The new ATI NVIDIA Models have not ancounced any information on the next release of their next cards. I would also note that these cards will probally be in the >=$500 range. So i'm not exactly sure if these cards would fit your budget. Probally your best bet is just to hold off until your ready to purchase your graphics card and then ask what's the best one I can get for my budget at this current moment. The prices on items like this change daily so its hard to say what's the best graphics card for you to purchase will be in 1-2 months.

doubt they'll be above $500 and if the 4890 is real they won't sell 5 series cards for a good 4 months after that.

Try getting the mid range 58xx card if ati repeats what they did with the 3 to 4 series transition since it will be just as powerful as a 4870 X2.

Upon realise of a gaming grade graphics card. I cannot remember the last time ATI's or NVIDIA's flagship card upon release was not at least $500 bucks. I really don't agree with your statement.

I would wager that in a couple months and with the upcoming price drop by ATI, that we will start to see GTX 280s in the mid 200s after rebates, in which that will probably be the best bet. For comparison the lowest GTX 280s are $289.99 at newegg.
