I bought two new Hp pavilions on Black Friday, one 15inch 256gb, and one 14 inch 512gb. I want to have 512 in my 15 inch as it will be my main workhorse. Will it work to swap the drives?

What is the specific make/model of the drives?

OS licensing will be an issue.

There's a good chance you'll have to reinstall the OS as they might use different motherboards for different models/sizes. The license for Windows is also stored on the EFI and will probably become invalid if you move it to a different motherboard.
