Hello everyone,

My problem is the following. I got an Acer GN246HL Gaming Monitor with 144hz but after building a new PC I got the issue that the DVI cable can´t be used for my GeForce RTX 3060 GPU, which is supposedly needed to get the 144hz. The GPU only has HDMI and DisplayPort. I tried getting an HDMI cable that says it supports up to 240hz, then I tried a DVI to DisplayPort cable and then a DVI adapter for my HDMI cable. Nothing worked. I can only choose 60hz or lower. What can I do to fix this?

Anecdotally, this one might work:

https://www.amazon.com/Axiom-Displayport-Male-Female-Adapter/dp/B01MR8G538

here is some specs:

Maybe stops at 120hz, still better than nothing.

Now others say you need a more expensive active DP to DVI adapter with a 4K 60hz rating to be able to handle the required bandwidth. But that is halfway to the cost of an entry level 1080p monitor with DP and HDMI.

But the manufacturers/suppliers of these adapters changes constantly, so it is hard to say what will really work.

Mmm I think I will just buy a new monitor. Is there one that works with my graphics card that you guys would recommend? I only care about 1920x1080 resolution and 144hz.
