I can barely handle GTA V.

So, for some reason, my GTA V barely runs on my computer.
I get horrible stuttering for like no reason at all, and it's only while in a car driving.
I will normally get 60 FPS while on foot, running around and whatnot, and usually in air vehicles I get alright FPS, but I just can't catch a break in cars and motorcycles.
I have tried updating the drivers to the latest AMD drivers optimized for GTA V.
I ordered more RAM cause I only meet the minimum requirements.

Specs:
AMD FX 8250 Overclocked to 4.0 Ghz
AMD Sapphire Radeon R9 270x
4 GB RAM

It could be insufficient memory, I know for a fact the game will push system RAM usage past 4 and into 5GB range. I'm not really familiar with how this game performs when low on memory though, so you should test it out again as soon as you get your new memory in.

The game itself can use 4gb+ ram. I suggest upgrading the ram. Also make sure you are running amds beta driver for gta v.

Well I have a friend that also has 4 gigs but can run the game smoothly

Is he running it at the same settings with similar hardware?

I'm actually 75% sure my hardware is better than his, and I'm running on all normal settings, and he's running on default.

^ agree absolutely - driving streams data from the hard drive very fast - with 4gb ram its pagefiling at the same time which will cause stutter.

Maybe your friend with 4gb has a faster drive or even 2 drives ??
