This problem does not occur with anyone else I speak to.

With one of my friends I've been trying to speak with, I can not hear him, yet he can hear me.
Whenever I speak, I hear my own voice directed back at me through his audio. I know this because when using teamspeak, his orb lights up whenever I speak.

I do however, hear his desktop sounds. For instance, I can hear the volume sound which plays whenever he changes his volume.

We both have windows 10, and I am sure it is something on his end, yet I'd like to be able to tell him something to get it fixed. Any ideas?

He says that windows is reading his mic as surround sound speakers... Any fix?

He says the headset is new.

Lastly, I can NOT hear him at all. I can only hear his PC sounds. His mic is not muted either.

He'll need to set up the mic through Teamspeak. That should solve all the problems. What you hear when your voice comes back through his mic is called echo, and it means your friend has his mic sensitivity far too high. Tell him to look through TS settings and set up the mic. Should work fine.

I'll try that, but we tried using steam chat as well. The same problem occurred.
