This has been going on seemingly at random. I have SteelSeries Arctis7 wireless headset. It is set as my default input and output device.
I will be using Discord and having no trouble at all hearing people. I will quit it (either exit the program or shut down my PC for the night) and come back and it will be not working for VOIP only. I can hear people leaving and joining, I can hear messages notifications and everything else. I can see people's rings lighting up green showing they are talking but it is only their voice I can't hear.
I checked audio settings in Discord and both input and output are set to Default. Specifically changing these to Arctis7 doesn't change anything at all.
Switching servers results in the same thing no matter what server I am on, so I know it isn't the other people (who can hear me, so it is just my output that is not working.)
This has persisted through a complete wipe of the hard drives, reinstallation of Windows 10 Home, Discord, and SteelSeries drivers.
It will, at random, seem to just fix itself if I restart Discord X number of times (or reboot the computer multiple times) or just come back to it later. When Is say "random" I mean RANDOM RANDOM. It doesn't make a lick of sense.
I did notice it recognized my Arctis7 when I started Discord the other day and I switched to it as recommended and it worked just fine... until it didn't (without me changing a single other thing on Discord.)
