I have a brand new Acer v5 (Touch screen) laptop. It will connect to a Linskey Network that is listed in the Wi Fi connect area to choose from. I have a Netgear wireless router. My Network is listed in the Network to choose to connect to. But the laptop will not connect to it. I've ran the troubleshooting under my Network options. And that's when it suggests the Linskey connection. I have tried Refreshing the laptop, pushing the reset button on the router, and unplugging and re-plugging the router and modem in. Nothing is worling.

I don't have a solution, I have the exact same problem, and would love an answer! Mine is also a brand new Acer v5 with touchscreen. My router is a 6 or 7 year old belkin every other computer we have has no trouble connecting to our network, including a laptop I bought brand new about 3 years ago. I can connect to the neighbors unsecured network, but not to my secure network.

If the problem is in the router settings, is there a way to check, and/or adjust the wireless settings? Has new technology come along in the last 3 years or so that would make this an issue?

I'm sorry to jump on someone elses thread, I am hoping the answer is the same for both of us :)

I found the solution for my Belkin, it's worth a try on your Netgear. I went to Belkin's website, and downloaded and updated my firmware. I didn't think it would work because my router is set to automatically check for updates, but sure enough, after the update, which Belkin's site walked me through, the Acer connected with no problem.

Good luck to you on your netgear, I hope this is helpful!
