I have an i7 7700k
Gtx 1050 2gb gddr5
8gb ddr4 RAM
I play on 1600x900 at 60 hz
Could it be the 60hz?
Ive already checked all my processes on task manager, theres hardly anything running on there and vsync is a pain with the input delay. Ive already gone to nvidia
3d settings, hardly any changes anything and it makes my games crash. And yes i also use dvi cables. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm sure you can get it smoother by playing around with those settings and also in game settings and video control panel. But happy it's actually playable now. You're welcome!

P.S.
If you google it there is actually a steam file in the game directories were you can set the fps max command so you dont need to type it in every time the game loads. Don't remember where off the top of my head. Just an FYI.
Im not sure if its screen tearing or micro stuttering or frame timing, with screen tearing its the closest but when i watch vudeos of it its much more extreme than what im getting. Closes explanation to what ive got its that it feels choppy and not smooth even though the fps counter is consistently onThe 110-120 side

What do you mean by not smooth? Without vsync if you run at game at 100fps with a 60hz monitor you will get screen tearing, but I wouldn't describe that as "not smooth" it's just ugly.

It could be bad 0.1% low frame times causing micro stuttering. An in game FPS counter might not update fast enough to even show the drops in FPS. I would get msi afterbuner or something and measure the frametimes. Also have a look at GPU usage when the stuttering occurs in game. The 7700k should have a 1050 pegged at 100% GPU usage while playing in pretty much any game with vsync off.

Yeah, I've played my fair share of that game : 0

However, the game is very old and I havn't tried playing it with new gen devices.

I bet it has to do with FPS limits. In CS GO I get like 400fps and i have to run command in console fps_max 144 to match my monitors refresh rates.

You may want to try the same but limit it down to 60.

Ive installed ge force experience to update my drivers and razer cortex to further inprove memory usage. But not much of a difference has come from it. Ill be trying after burner as soon as i get home. And would over clocking my gpu at the expense of a louder fan be worth looking into? Ive also seen videos where people over clocj their mobitors to gives them a couple extra hertz from 60 to like 75

Correct. fps_max 60

And no it wont cause issues.

If you force the game to run at the herts of your monitor then you wont receive screen tearings so you can also turn off vsync.

However, that changes depending on system configs, game etc... but that is generally how it works.

You can try two things. Turn vsync back on or.

Try to set the FPS limit just under 60. Some games don't work well with functioning at the exact limit. Try fps_max 58 or 56 etc... Something just under 60.

On my setup I have vsync off, gsync on and fps_max set to my monitor herts.

I tured on triple buffer and it helped but the biggest issue os that when i move around the mouse all the detail and focus on the environment looses focus, kindda like motion blur but without the blur effect

I always get tearing using a game engine FPS cap, regardless of what the cap is set to. Your monitor is probably not 60hz exactly, it's probably more like 59.27hz or near that. I doubt CSGO will let you set the refresh rate to the exact refresh rate of your monitor, which is what I think needs to be done to avoid screen tearing when using a game engine fps cap.

MERGED QUESTION
Question from julian0marriaga : "My PC is strong but cant run games."

I have a friend with the exact same specs and he runs games alot better than me.

Well for one. Not all hardware is the same. I could have the exact same system as you and we could easily get different results.

It's called the Silicon Lotto. Some chips are simply made better then others and that can causes performance differences. This goes for everything, not just CPUs.

Also depends on whats installed on his system, maintenance, OS configuration, in game settings etc... There is more to it then just "he has the same hardware".
