I took a Macrium backup of my HP laptop's C drive and installed it on my new Asus Vivobook which had win11 pro on it. It has an ssd also. After it finished installing, I rebooted and the laptop would not boot. I put a usb boot drive in, changed the bios and booted it up. It was an Easus Partition boot usb and I used it to look for and fix the computer's ssd. I could not access the drive. It showed up as an x drive. Couldn't do anything with it. How do I get in to reinstall Windows??

Today I used a usb drive that had Windows 11 loaded on it and I was able to see the drive on the Asus machine. How do I make that drive bootable while it is connected to my usb drive which shows as the C boot drive.? Sorry for being so confusing, I'm old!

Totally unclear of what you are actually wanting to do.

Do you want to install an OS on this Samsung drive?

C is just a partition, not a drive and disk OS is booted from always has letter C for a partition it's installed on.
If you are calling disk C the one that is installed in that Asus Vivobook, it may not work and boot from windows installed in some other PC . Most likely you will have to reinstall windows.
