I cannot burn cd on windows xp

when i try to burn a cd on windows xp i get a message saying connect burner then try again.

Are you sure the CD is a burner? Have you ever burned CDs with that drive?

Hello, try to install a burning software. That way, if there is any s/w problem, it will be overridden. Worked many times for me. Hope I helped.

I have an ibm pc. when i try to burn a cd I get a message saying "connect a burner and try again" I have no problem ripping from a cd. Please advise

do you have cd/dvd writer or cd/dvd reader or combo drive with dvd reader /cd read & write..

got to device manager & check it..

for ripping reader is enough, but for burning you need writer
