I cannot defragment my hard drive

I wanted to defragment my hard drive on my asus laptop today https://www.asus.com/Laptops/K40IJ/ and this showed up http://ctrlv.in/961775 that disk defragmenter was scheduled using another program. When I click remove settings nothing happens. I am not aware that I scheduled the disk defragmentation in another program. This is my first time defragmenting my drive. Do you have any suggestions?

At any rate, there are a number of things that can cause this to happen - the tops being a disk that's too full, damaged hardware or malware.

These are some Microsoft trouble-shooting steps. Try these and see if that helps. If not, we can go from there:
