I cannot get my backgrounds to shuffle in Windows 10

Hi, the bar which previously showed the background is no longer there (http://puu.sh/jlhhO/87ba2038ef.png) and the settings app allows me to change my background but not shuffle the wallpapers in a folder. Surely they have not removed this basic and popular function?

Thanks,
Jacob

Microsoft has inexplicably removed normal access to this function, which I enjoyed very much when it came out in Windows 7. However, a registry hack will allow you to enable shuffling.

Enter the registry editor by typing "regedit" into the start menu and clicking the first option. Once the editor has been launched, select the HKEY_USERS key. Press F3 and type in "Desktop Slideshow." You should arrive at a key with that name. From there, you'll see the "Shuffle" entry. Double click and set the value to 0 for off, or 1 for on, as you see fit.

Right click desktop, click personalize, click background, under background change picture to slideshow, browse to find the folder where your images are stored, elect frequency of image change and fit. This worked for me.

Wow, thanks a ton for this. It was giving me fits trying to figure it out. I haven't the slightest clue why Microsoft would take away the button for such a simple feature that was present in previous versions.

I would like to add though, that I had to reboot for the change to go into effect.
