[SOLVED] I cannot update to Windows version 1803.

Hello, for the past month I have been trying to update my pc to the latest version of windows. Everytime I restart my laptop (Asus rog gl502vm) to install the updates my pc runs into a problem saying stopcode memory management and then restores to my previous version of windows. I tought maybe it had to do with corrupted files so I deleted all the corrupted files but still the same result... Then I tried to 'Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restore health' and 'sfc /scannow'. after I did that i restarted my laptop but couldn't log in to my laptop, i would give my code, it would load for a while and then blink back to where I need to enter my code. I did a system restore and now I can log in again but i still can't update. I have contacted Microsoft and Asus but they cant help and just say my laptop is not compatible.. which is obviously not true.. Please help me, I dont know what to do anymore. Create windows installation media and run it in upgrade mode. It will update to 1809 version.

Download latest version of windows using media creation tool from microsoft and install directly a fresh windows and it will be latest version.

Will i still have all my files and programs on my pc then? Or will i need to save those on my external hard drive first?

Depends how it is partioned, if you have C: and D: drive only C: will be affected

This post is really helpful which is describe over there, I also facing same error when I update my windows 10 then it shows an error epson error code 0xe5, so I really want an appropriate solution to remove this error as soon as possible.

So if I move my most important files and programs on my C drive to my D drive I won't lose anything, do I get that right?

Yes. Be sure when you install windows to nto delete the D partition, only the one which is windows installed on.
