If I had to guess - probably you're running out of free space.

For example, if on windows pc you run out of free space on OS drive, windows stops working.
You can't even boot into windows after that happens.
Also with SSD, if you run out of free space, drive performance drops drastically.

That's why, it is important, to have enough free space.
