I have a 1TB WD hard drive. Problem is I can't access it via any computer. I have important files that i like to recover.

The files can be accessed if I connect it to a smart TV or any TV with a USB port. But I can't access it if I connect it to a computer's USB port.

I can see the drive when i view My Computer but it only shows: Local Disk (G: ). Whereas another Ex. drive I have connected (500GB) shows: 1st line:Transcend (E: ); 2nd line: the Bar that's almost full; and the 3rd line: says 6.28GB free of 465GB.

Any clue why this is happening? And how can I fix it? Any help would be much appreciated.

Hey there, Navman685.

Sorry to hear about the issues you've been experiencing. Would you please post a screenshot of what you see about that external drive and its partitions in Disk Management (you can use imgur.com to upload the image)?
Other than that, you could try the HDD with a different computer and a different USB cable (preferably shorter than 12"), to see if the same thing happens again. You could also try reinstalling the USB driver, to see if that fixes the issue.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how everything goes.
