Question I can't change my RAM to original speed. And half of the RAM is reserved (8GB RAM)

Hello,

So my pc parts came yesterday, and I built it by myself this morning. Everything looks fine until I check in "Task Manager" that the machine recognizes 16 GB RAM, but it said only "7.9 GB Used), 8.1GB rest goes to "hardware reserve" ? How to fix this problem? Or does it reserve because of my RX 570 8gb VRAM ? I check my bios, it is updated already. I use Windows 10 HOME 64 bit (unactivated)

My second trouble is the RAM speed, the original speed is 3200. I tried to go to the BIOS to make a new profile, set the RAM goes back to the true speed. Then I choose "Save changes and Exit", but it doesn't work, when I go back to the BIOS to check, it is still the old speed 2133Mhz.

GPU won't eat the ram like that, its got its own ram and the address space of 64bit is so vast your ram on GPU will never eat into actual ram again. Not in foreseeable future anyway

Do you have the latest AMD chipset drivers?

Is your ram on the QLV listing for the motherboard?

I go to AMD site. But it looks like there is nothing in the driver support for my Ryzen 5 2600, except the AMD Ryzen Master, which I think it is for OC? Or did I search it wrong?

This is the product code of my 2x8 GB GSkill RAM: F4-3200C16D-16GVKB . Product site: https://www.gskill.com/product/165/184/1536110676/F4-3200C16D-16GVKBRipjaws-VDDR4-3200MHz-CL16-18-18-38-1.35V16GB-(2x8GB)

I go to ASROCK site to check my mobo: https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B450M-HDV R4.0/index.asp#Memory

I can't find anything match with the product code, they have GSkill products there in those MEMORY QVL Lists, but the maximum speed I can see is 3066, not 3200MHz.

Is it the actual problem? When I chose the components on PC PartPicker, they showed me no problems at all with my build.

you would get these from Asrock I think

Ryzen fairly picky about ram, especially if it hasn't been tested in board. the codes do change as new models released but its normally just a few characters in the code. 3066 is an odd value. Seems fastest board can run any G Skill.

it could be worse, they tested F4-4133C19D-16GTZKWC on motherboard, its max speed is 4k and it only runs at 3066, so only way to get that speed is underclock the ram? everything close to 3k on that chart is actually capable of faster. 3200 runs at 2933

I will get 2nd opinions on PC Part picker as I would have assumed it show some flags if RAM wasn't right.

You should have stopped at BIOS version 3.10
This has been in yellow writing in last 2 BIOS updates - ASRock do NOT recommend updating this BIOS if Pinnacle, Raven or Summit Ridge CPU is being used on your system. Your CPU is pinnacle ridge. I don't know if you can flash the bios back to 3.10. I wouldn't go any further back.

Get and Install the AMD B450 Chipset drivers from here:
https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am4/b450

And Set the 3200 XMP profile BUT then change your DRAM Frequency to 2933 and see if that will boot.
It seems that there are very few RAM kits that actually run at 3200 on your motherboard.

And as stated above your BIOS version could be a big part of the problem.

BIOS version 3.70 it will Not work as well with a Ryzen 2600.
And actually version 1.50 is the Best BIOS version for a Ryzen 5 2600, but version 3.10 should work just not as well as v1.50.

You should be able to simply use the in BIOS flash tool to downgrade to BIOS version 3.10.
