I have a zotac rtx 2060 and I just plugged it in to the pc, the fans spin but the monitor goes into power saving mode. I use an hdmi to displayport adapter.

Cable: Myria display port cable AWM STYLE 20276 80C 30V VW-1
Monitor: Lenovo thinkvision 1680x1050 l2250p 22inch

I connect the hdmi to the monitor and the displayport to the gpu but it keeps saying power saving mode.
Note that I just upgraded to this gpu, my old one was a gt 730 and that worked but I used a VGA cable with that.

Build:
I5 9400f
B365 pro4
Seasonic s12II 620 bronze 80+
16gb ram 3000mhz
Zotac rtx 2060
The build is like 1 year old expect the gpu which was bought today

If your GPU has a Display Port output and your monitor has a Display port input, why aren't you working with a DP cable?

Zotac rtx 2060
Monitor Lenovo ThinkVision L2251p Wide

The 2060 is new and It replaces my old gt 730.
I used a vga cable for the gt 730 and the monitor and it worked fine.
I replaced the gpu with the 2060 and I used a displayport to hdmi adapter. I connected the displayport to the monitor and the hdmi to the gpu but it keeps saying power saving mode.
