  • Comcast using wifi currently
  • 3 phones. PS5, 2 Tvs, 2 Pc's connected to wifi,
WIRED LAN CONNECTION ONLY

If you are operating on a wired connection as opposed to wireless these items will also need to be provided:

  • switch is Netgear 5 port Gigabit Ethernet Switch G56605v5
  • security cameras are connected via ethernet but no pc currently.
  • no router or switch currently will explain later
  • internal connecter to use cable
  • Ok, my issue is i can't connect to my modem directly with an ethernet cable my network adaptor flops between identifying and no ethernet cable plugged in. if I hook up my switch and use it it will connect straight away. i have reset my network via Windows and reset my modem using 5 different cables. my other desktop wont connect the same way either. but devices like my security cameras will connect via ethernet cable.

More information needed.

Connection path being the following line diagram where ----> represents an Ethernet cable:

ISP === (coax, DSL, fiber) ===> Modem ---->[WAN Port] Router [LAN Port] ----> [LAN Port] Office Wifi Access Point ~~~~> Wireless network devices

With other Router LAN ports -----> Wired network devices.

Feel free to update and edit/ correct my line diagram as necessary to match your network and connection paths.

Be sure identify modem, router, and switch via make and model.

Show the connection paths with and without the switch?

Do you have full admin rights to the router? If not, who does?
