I can't decide on a CPU for my build, suggestions?

I figured a Ryzen 5 2600 would be good, and paired with the AMD motherboard I'd be able to upgrade next year to the Zen 2 architecture if need be. I think this is more sensible budget-wise than going with Intel.

I'd like to game at 1440p 60fps ideally until I get a monitor with a higher refresh rate than 60hz

Can be quite a difference from what I recall from reviews. However some games don't scale particularly well with faster RAM while others do (not scaling well meaning not a lot of difference). Usual advice is to get the best you can afford.

Thanks for the reply, I'm glad you like the build I put a lot of time into.

I'm getting the RAM as a gift otherwise I'd cancel the order and get a faster set. Do you know how much of an impact RAM speed has typically when it comes to Ryzen 5?
