I swapped my PC with the train station my dad volunteer's for theirs. I gave them my Lenovo ThinkServer TS140 and they game me their old whitebox AMD FM1 APU system.
I got it home and the AMD CPU bracket broke off where the heatsink attaches to the MB plastic bracket. I thought it died as they were using it for months with it crashes more and more frequently, and now crashed almost immediately after power on.
I had an old Hyper 212 Evo, so I replaced it and CPU works great.
I did however notice it booted up to the hibernate mode during power-on. It did this every time.
I decided to pop in a new SSD and a USB pen drive with the windows 10 installer. I turned on the PC and started hitting the F11 key to boot from USB installer, but nothing happened. So I rebooted and started hitting F2/Del and still nothing.
I reattached the old HDD and it booted up fine. I then went to settings and app and tried recovery mode to go to the EUFI bios and try to boot this way. But the option was missing, like there was no BIOS anymore.
After several different attempts with multiple keyboards, I decided to reset CMOS to clear BIOS and pulled battery, it cleared it all, but now it is stuck at the press F1/F2 and I can't continue. I even replaced the battery as not even a time nor date would show up.
I looked at the BIOS, and it is not UEFI, It has the original BIOS P1.10. It is an Asrock A55m-MVS motherboard.
Not sure why it suddenly stopped booting. It shows the CD and USB boot disk, keyboard and mouse. If I change USB, it shows a different usb. It is recognizing everything, except the keyboard. I'M CONFUSED WHY IT SUDDENLY GOT AMNESIA AS IT WAS WORKING FINE FOR TWO DAYS WHILE i TESTED THE cpu FOR DAMAGE FROM OVERHEATING SO MANY TIMES. BUT IT RAN OVER 24-HOURS NON-STOP.
