I can't find or connect to any web pages though my router says I'm connected

I can't connect to any web pages on my laptop but my router says I'm connected I've tried lots of things but I can't seem to connect I have downloaded some things like cinema 4d adobe after affects but they dont show up. and utorrent can sombody help me I've also had the power go out because of a storm about 2 times

The router may indicate that everything is normal but that doesn't necessarily mean your laptop is connected to the net.

If you have had power-cuts and storms, the laptop's network adapters may have been damaged (ethernet or wireless, whichever one was in use at the time).

Look in Device Manager first to see if your adapters are both listed under "Network Adapters" without any errors.
