I can't find the compatibility issue in my build.

Can someone help me understand what is wrong with this build? I can't figure out where the compatibility issue is.

B150 mobo requires BIOS update using 6th gen chip before the system can be used ; usually they won't start up I hear.

you need an BIOS update for the B150 to work with the 7700k.
also (not really a compability issue) a K-CPU is made for OC, which your board doesn't support.

Hello... a "K" CPU should be bought with a "Z" model MB? "K" models are for OC'ng with a "Z" MB... and typically you might need the proper/newer BIO's version, if the CPU is a Newer production date than when the MB was made.

still, that doesn't mean the proper K version CPU would not work with a non-Z mobo. it will work but it doesn't make sense to spend the extra cash on one

Issues
1)H/B/Z1xx boards are not compatabile with 7xxx kabby lake CPUs without a bios update, which cant be done with a CPU that is not supported by the bios currently ont he board. Thus you need a 2xx serries board
2) B serries board with overlockable CPU. Only a Z serries board can overclock thus you are wasting money on an overclockable CPU.
3) not an incompatibility but if you are getting a kabylake cpu and 2xx serries board then you should get 2400mhz ram as that is the max the board and cpu natively supports without overclock. Also no real reason to get 4x4gb vs 2x8gb dual channel ram.

Indeed. Mobo will not post, ez debug lights flashed cpu and dram. Called MSI and they confirmed the bios update.

Hello... Good... but the catch 22 is you need a compatible/bootable CPU installed to complete a BIO's update... You can send in in to MSI or you can call a local shop for the proper CPU needed.
