I cant fresh install x64bit xp on my E2200 CPU

does anyone have any idea on how to solve this problem, im running windows 7 x64bit but i can boot and fresh install x64bit windows xp.

First you say you CANT boot into XP 64 in your title.

Then in your post you say you CAN install XP 64.

Which is it??





Check your dimm voltage is set correctly and NOT on "Auto".

For example if you have 2.0v memory and it defaults to 1.8v, that may cause windows to not load.

You have not mentioned what error your getting. Is it a stop error? Bsod?

Sorry about my post im new to these things. Im running windows7 x64bit now i used the x86/x64bit bootable dvd.Well when I tried to boot with my bootable x64 windows xp it didnt display any error just paused a little while then continued on boot even i set my first boot on cd-rom and non other, im not good w/ computer im noob still practicing or familiarizing and need much guidance, thank you so much for taking the time. Ill try eplore more then maybe ask you again next time.

I don't understand your problem. Your have Win7 loaded on your hardrive and your trying to install XP over the Win7 and it wont install?

If you want to get rid of Win 7 so you can install XP, then wipe the existing partition clean. Then boot to your XP DVD, and install to the newly cleaned partition.


If you want to install XP, and retain Win 7 - Then you will need to create a new drive/partition, install XP to that. Then go back and replace XP's boot manager with the one from Win 7, then tell Win 7's boot manager about the XP installation.


More to the point, though - Why would you want to do that at all?
