I recently switched from a 100mbps network to a 500mbps network. But when I check my internet speed, it is stuck at 100mbps. I'm using a CAT5e ethernet cable that is directly connnected to my modem. My internet NIC is realtek PCIe GBE family controller (8111G) with an up to date driver. When I check the speed and duplex, there are only 10Mbps, 100Mbps, and auto detect options. How can I get my internet speed up to 500Mbps? Thank you very much.

I'm not using any router connection, my ethernet cable is directly connecting to my desktop and my modem. I have also done a speed test, it says that my download speed and upload speed is around 95mbps.

I don't think my ethernet cable would be a problem as it is bought quite recently.
