Sounds like my guess was right, slide that plastic protector off the gold connector that slides in the slot. Make it look like the old GPU.Yes I did follow the video, but the part that goes into that locking mechanism seems too large.
When I press the power button absolutely nothing happens. The switch on the PSU?
The cable to the wall?
What else did you touch?
What indications do you see when you press the power button?
Top left of motherboard above cpu. Between VRM heatsink.Where would they be located, maybe a can get a better picture.
That would indicate something is not connected. When I press the power button absolutely nothing happens.
Any other things I could have done wrong? That would indicate something is not connected.
Or the PSU switch is OFF.
Or its not plugged in.
Or the wall socket circuit breaker tripped.
What cables would cause a PC not to power on?Some cable on the inside.
Look at and touch everything.
Front panel power switch to the motherboardWhat cables would cause a PC not to power on?
OK, just checking that it came with that actual PSU.The other 8-pin cable seems to have been a spare from when I bought my PSU.
Maybe.Would pressing the start or reset button on my motherboard do anything?
Well...'reset' only counts if it is already running, so...Which one? Start or reset.
Well... when I pressed start everything turned on, and then turned off and then turned on in an infinity loop. But while it was doing that my GPU made this horrible fast passed clicking sound.Well...'reset' only counts if it is already running, so...
When I installed my old GPU into this PC, I remember there being a problem with the top slot or something. I will try it out though. Also, is there a reason why you don't use the first PCIe slot?
