JVC LT-40MAW300 40" Class Premier Series 1080p LED TV

I am trying to assist my dad with a TV he has had for 2 years. It is CEC enabled but I can't get the remote to control Roku or Firestick. I contacted tech support and they were zero help. I realize JVC is not the best but that's what he chose to buy. Below is the email I sent to JVC. They confirmed the TV is CEC but that I had to use separate remotes. 🤦‍♀️

The Roku remote will work but I can't power on the TV or change the volume. Same for Firestick. The TV remote will work to power on the TV and change the volume but won't change the Roku or Firestick. I'm just trying to simplify life a little bit for my 76 year old dad!

If you have suggestions please let me know. Thank you!

The CEC/ARC setting is on for the TV, Roku, and Firestick. Right after we got the TV I was emailed a list of codes to manually program the remote, but none of them worked. Auto programming does not work either. We took out the items in the HDMI ports and moved them to different ports, but no change. Current set up is 1-Roku, 2-Firestick, and 3-DVD player. It is extremely frustrating to have to use multiple remotes to control the channels, power, and volume. There is nothing in the owners manual that addresses this issue.

Usually with fire stick for example some of their remotes can be programmed to power on the TV and if cec is working right, the TV should be able to turn on the soundbar.

If not, then this may be the ticket. Looks like it attaches to your streaming remote so that at least everything stays on one piece.

This one looks interesting as well if it will work. Looks like you insert the remote into this.
