Hello all,
I have a HP laserJet P1102. When I want to install its driver it seems that it need to pci simple communication controller be installed. How to install that pci simple communication controller for my Win 7 32-bit please?
The only error is that the pci simple communication controller is not installed. When I plug the USB of that printer it wants to install the pci simple communication controller but it can't!
From "dxdiag" I found that my system manufacturer is "ECS" and the system model is "945p /pl-A".
For the printer, I have its companion CD and also I downloaded the driver for that printer from HP but it's the same as my CD.
For installing the pci simple communication controller I tried to use of Windows updates but it couldn't to find.
There should certainly be some way to install that printer. Because none of the PC and the printer are old.
May you please help me how to install that printer?

your missing the motherboard chipset drivers and the usb drivers. did yu or someone in your home reinstall windows?? if they did go to the vendor web page for the pc. if it hp or dell. if it a custom built pc read the motherboard info from the mb and go to the mb vendor web page for the drivers or from intel web page run there driver update.

well as I found with windows 7 is some things I use I found I had to go to my old harddrives with xp and vista and copy folders and dll's that came native in them and paste them in 7 to get things to work. seems Microsoft short changed some things in 7 and above .. looks like this may be the case here ..

also as I read here your not the only one with this and the hp printers I used in the past were just plug and play

I installed Windows 7 on that desktop PC. What do you meany by the vendor PC please? If you mean the system manufacturer and the system model they are "ECS" and "945p /pl-A".
I also downloaded and installed the chipset from think link (http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Product_Detail.aspx?DetailID=672&MenuID=16, I chose vista 32-bit version and ADE(1) to download) but no success to install that printer.

For the chipset driver, as I said, I reinstalled that driver from that link (above). And for LAN, I don't think printer has any relationship with LAN/Ethernet cable, but it's easy, I can reinstall the LAN drivers.
As a suggestion, I'm going to install XP on that machine. Do you think will have I problem in installing that printer on this OS?

I'm sorry I have anticipated in many forums but haven't had any problem understanding English as much as I have with yours.
Although English is not my native language and it's broken but I think I'm not such bad to don't understand such ordinary sentences. So please, if possible, write your help in some more formal states. I completely appreciate your helps mate.

And some more thing, there isn't any win 7 driver for that motherboard

Doesn't it say that it can not completely support win 7?

I have a new problem! When I want to install XP, after pressing a key to boot from CD/DVD, the keyboard doesn't work!!
I don't know what to do with that computer. When I press shift-F10 to enter BIOS (I'm not sure that it's bios environment or else were) there isn't many options!!

Your problem is very simple and here is how to solve it. You are missing the chipset drivers therefore you will need to download them from the link provided below under IDE tab. Install and if possible under device manager tab check to see which other drivers are missing and update. You can actually update the drivers automatically if you have an internet connection.

PS: Use the windows vista x86 drivers since win7x86 are not available.

what dexterwiz said goes back to using a non-supported software. its just a roll of the dice support you just guess at and hope it works

bad thing about going back to xp is Microsoft don't support it any more and you will be responsible for keeping it up

your kinda between a rock and a hard place with that board its getting pretty dated and it may be time for something more current

About going back to XP, seems that you are right but probably I'll not have else option!

About that driver, I try to download it but I doubt it can solve the problem of installing the printer (on this 7) or the not working of keyboard when installing XP.
If I have to install XP, I'll install the XP SP3.

I tried to look things up for you and got to say its a mess and little to no support for this on that chipset .. so I guess all I can say is you need a board that has real support this one just seems not to or confusing . all you really got is what ecs offers and it is not much.. seems you would be well for the better to find another system that has easy full support

sorry I donr all I could on this with out steering you wrong and in the end the printer may just not ever work just due to compatibility
