I can't install Norton Anti Virus Windows 8.1 unless I buy Network Securty is this legit??

I bought a transformer Book ASUS t100ta. Went to download Norton 360 and was told I cannot unless I buy Norton Network Security for my INTERNET.
This is first I've heard. Is this legit? at $200 I would think that this would have made news. Without buying Network Security you can't buy Anti Virus for your device. Can someone confirm?

Well, good news - don't even bother with Norton, it's garbage.

Just go with a free solution from AVG, Avast, Malwarebytes, or Avira. All better than Norton and better yet they're free.

360 doesn't exist as a standalone product anymore. They've migrated to Norton Security to cover more of your devices. Currently Security with backup is at $60 special pricing direct from Norton.
