i just bought windows 10 installer cd, but when i tried to install it , then i got message like this " your installation media cannot be used to install windows" .
whats wrong with that? please help me

Do you currently have a 64bit operating system on there already?

Are you trying to do a clean install or upgrade? Did you buy an upgrade version or a full version. What is the part number of the disk you bought? What are you full system hardware specs?

And most importantly, WHERE did you buy the disk from and was it sealed in a factory Microsoft packaging with the label that looks like this:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/howtotell/Software.aspx#Packaging

im currently used windows 8.1 pro 32-bit.
and im going to upgrade my laptop. i dont know i guess i bought a ful version of windows 10 32-bit.
i got intel core-i5 , RAM 4 GB, NVIDIA GeForce video graphic, 500GB HDD .

i bought it from computer store in my region. yeah i saw the same label with mine.

so what should i do now?

1) Return the media if possible. If NOT, sell or keep for another computer but don't use it or its wasted money.

2) Find the upgrade link in System Tray (lower right), OR burn a W10 Install disc (link at bottom)

*if you create your own USB or DVD you run from within Windows and start the Setup EXE file and follow instructions (have your e-mail address ready is a good idea).

3) Finish upgrading (may need to reinstall some drivers like video)

4) Optional: Clean install Windows 10 (then upgrade drivers, install programs etc)
*You must upgrade from W8 32-bit to W10 32-bit, however... you can then insert a W10 64-bit Install disc that you created and do a CLEAN INSTALL to 64-bit.

The 32-bit and 64-bit licenses are compatible so you can replace W10 32-bit with W10 64-bit. Am I sure... yes, I did it.

(I believe I BOOTED to the installation media for the clean install, whereas upgrading started from within Windows... either way I did DELETE everything on the drive at the beginning of the installation to ensure a totally clean install though make sure you backed up everything you need)

Other:
W10 upgrading doesn't work on every system... sometimes rolls back to Windows 7/8.

Other:
Media Creation Tool:
a) link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install
b) run program, choose "...other PC" method so you can download the ISO
c) Create DVD or USB (there's a USB option linked from within the tool though I just download the ISO and used RUFUS to create mine)

Other:
It's odd to me that you couldn't install Windows 10 with that media though. I don't recommend it since it's free but it should have still worked.
