I can't open a number of icons on my desk top!

Can't open desk top icons when I try a box appears with following eg The item 'Reader Library. exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved so this shortcut will no longer work properly

Have you been doing any cleanup or pruning of your disk directories lately? My first guess is that you moved or deleted stuff that the system uses.

Right-click on the icon, select Properties, and see what the full path is to the executable that it wants to run. Then look on that path and see if the directory exists and if the executable exists. Tell us a few paths and whether you found the file or not, and we will proceed from there.
