Hey

I can't OC my CPU, and i hope someone could help me with this problem..
i've got this "OC GENIE" button in my BOIS but when i press it, it seems like it got this "easy OC" and when i save this and try to get to windows it just says that my overclock has failed..

My specs:

intel core i7 4770K
MSI z87 - g55 motherboard
corsair h110 cooling
XFX 750W PSU

Personally I would stay away from automatic overclocking tools. Try setting the multipliers manually in BIOS and set the voltage to an average stable voltage initially. Then find the minimum stable voltage for your setup from there.

I am not entirely familiar with MSI's BIOS, but I would imagine there are some similarities between it and the UEFI BIOS Asus offers on their boards. There should be a setting that allows you to simply adjust the multiplier alone, while the BIOS automatically ticks up voltages slightly to compensate. I did something similar on my Z87-Deluxe board and was able to get 4.3GHz out of my 4770k. Voltages via CPUID were around 1.25 if I remember correctly. This was achieved by setting the Multiplier on a per core basis and having all other variables left at stock or Auto under the BIOS Advanced settings. I also made sure to take advantage of the XMP settings for the RAM that was installed BEFORE going in and OCing the CPU.

Not the best OC I know, but it was more than enough for what I needed. Good Luck!
