I cant run simple games on my brand new rig

So I have a GTX 780, AMD FX8350, and a Gigabyte 970 Ds3P Mobo.

I have been trying to test it out on simple games like wow and dota.

For wow, I cant run it on high to ultra settings. the screen blinks several times and eventually it blacks out, then it comes back and its just manageable enough to press the windows key for me to be able to get on the desktop and exit the game.

For dota, very similar things happen, but when I lowered the settings from 1280x960 to 1040 or what ever the standard is. Then it freezes blacks out and the sound of the game keeps playing but I can only see my desktop and I cant click on anything. I have to click the windows button and so on.

I scrapped up an old monitor, its a dell 1907FP so im wondering if the monitor is the issue, I have no idea. All my drivers are up to date and temperatures are fine, well below 105 degrees. Please let me know what you guys think I can do. thank you

can stated ur full pc spec? power supply? ur gpu actual temp while u load the game?

might be the card overheating or not enough power.

Power sup= corsair RM650
CPU fan= cooler master hyper 212
4 case fans, 2 on the bottom blowing inwards, 2 on the back top blowing outward.

im not really sure of my gpu temp while loading the game, but any temperature reading I saw from my bios and speed fan didn't exceed 40C

try the card in another pc and check the pcie power cable is connected.

Thing is when I just finished building it, I initially tested it on a 4k monitor, we ran a benchmark, stress test and ran the witcher and it was right where it needed to be. I took it home hooked it up, downloaded dota and it can't run it without the screen blinking and so on

so that means u tried it on a 4k monitor and its working fine? then u try on ur home monitor n the screen blinking? mybe ur monitor problem? might try to hook up the monitor on ur sparecard first to check does it still blinking.

The monitor Disney blink under normal activities, like surfing the internet, streaming videos, ETc. I just finish playing a match of dota under the lowest resoulition and I was able to play the while match. The fights were smooth graphics werent clear but atleast it worked. Yet at the end of the game when the ancient exploded, the screen frooze and the same thing happen from when the resolution was high. I'm guessing ita the monitor. Will that solve my problems?

maybe. but confirm it first on other monitor first. If the problem persist, the card is at fault. If its working fine on other monitor, then rplacing ur current monitor might solve it.

Try other monitor first to be sure or try the blinking monitor with other card.
