I can't see my disk in my computer, but I see the blue light, what happens???

I have a Disk recently but I don't have my Original usb conector, so, I that add a general conector, turn on blue light but it doesn't run help me please!!! My disk is SSK MOBILE STORAGE SLUTION 2.5 EXTERNAL ENCLOSURE.

Did the drive work fine before you changed the USB cable? Firs I'd recommend that you try the drive with another computer to see if the same thing happens. It is recommended that you don't use a USB cable longer than 12", because of possible power losses. Make sure the USB cable which you are using is shorter than 12". Other than that, I'd suggest that you check if the drive is recognized in Disk Management and if you can see it there, try assigning the drive a new letter to see if it's recognized this way. Just click on the corresponding OS and follow the instructions.

You could also try taking the drive out of the enclosure and connecting it directly to the motherboard with a SATA connection to see if it's working, because the external enclosure might be issue. If it is recognized this way, I'd recommend that you backup any important data which you might have on it, just in case and after that, download the drive manufacturer's diagnostic tool and test the drive with it to see if there is anything out of the ordinary.

External hard drives are basically 2.5" (if portable) or 3.5" normal internal hard drives in an external enclosure. There are often videos on youtube and other similar sites, where you can see someone doing it (taking the drive out of the enclosure). But it's not recommended that you do it unless it is a last resort and you desperately need the data from the drive and that there's a chance, that this would help you get it, because taking a drive out of its external enclosure will most likely void the warranty and if that particular drive has hardware encryption - you won't be able to get your data, because it would be encrypted.
On the other hand, the user above is talking about an external enclosure which is sold separately e.g. you buy a normal 2.5" internal drive and a 2.5" external enclosure and put the drive in the enclosure to use it as an external HDD. In this situation you won't void the warranty of the drive if you take it out of the enclosure. In these cases, there should be instructions with the external enclosure on how to connect and remove a drive from it.
